  1. This program was designed under the premise that a language is learned faster 
  2. if it is approached in short segments.  Therefore, there are only 20 items to 
  3. each drill unit.  In addition, the first ten items rotate position with the 
  4. last ten items at each access (except for the short stories) to insure a more 
  5. even impact of all the material in each unit.  The user has control over 
  6. content and level of difficulty through unit selection.  Once a unit has been 
  7. mastered, the student can immediately move on to new material.  Each item is 
  8. presented for matching by user input and scoring is automatic.  However, input 
  9. for matching is not required.  The student can obtain correct translations 
  10. by pressing enter and proceed through the units until ready to match. 
  11. Early input for matching and scoring is encouraged and every correct match is 
  12. rewarded with an encouraging statement of praise.  Considering that there are 
  13. more correct matches than those presented a score of 15(+) will be rewarded 
  14. with one of three musical tunes.  100 units have been included as a start and 
  15. as examples.  Although the program was first designed as a tool for teachers;
  16. serious students can use it as a supplement & just as easily create units for 
  17. their particular level and needs.  It is recomended that the student run only 
  18. one drill unit at a sitting, run it 3 or 4 times and then take a break.
